As the parent of a preschooler, there are many things you want for your child as they start school — the growing ability to communicate well, make friends, work well with classmates, and love school from the very first day. It’s important to you that the learning environment is both safe and welcoming, so your child can confidently gain the academic and social-emotional skills needed for kindergarten readiness.
Our preschool program is designed to honor our youngest learners and equip them with the tools they need to explore the world around them. Below, you’ll find a brief overview of what we offer, including:
Explore. Play. Grow.
THE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AT TLA
We partner with parents to create a supportive, responsive environment that meets your young learner where they are. We know how important it is at this early stage to have alignment between the home and school, so children are learning consistent lessons.
INSIDE OUR PRESCHOOL CLASSROOMS, YOU WILL FIND:
A technology-free zone: We follow the American Academic Pediatrics Association’s recommendations for appropriate timing with technology as a tool for learning.
Small class sizes: We want our students to feel cared for and known. Our student-to-teacher ratio is 5:1.
A strong emphasis on safety: We conduct thorough background checks on all staff and volunteers, keep all exterior doors locked, and require visitors to check-in before accessing classrooms.
Learning stations to support enrichment activities that foster fine and gross motor skills.
Our preschool campus also features two outdoor play areas and a gymnasium where students enjoy daily physical activity.

Meet a Teacher

“Being a preschool teacher has been one of the most challenging and rewarding jobs. A love of crayons, glue, and finger paints is a must … play and creating is essential at this age. Your hope is to instill a love of learning and build a strong foundation that will carry them for years to come. Preschoolers need to feel safe and know they are cared for. We nurture social skills and learn how to interact in healthy ways with our classmates. I have always been (and will continue to be) impacted by each of the children I have taught. They amaze me with their perspective and how they see the world, through a lens of curiosity and wonder. I would not give up being a teacher for anything in the world.”
